Season 2 Episode 32 of the Trauma-Informed Church Kid podcast

The family of Abraham has chosen to live with the King of the Universe in their midst, and they have been given his “house rules” instructing them how to live. What will happen if they keep them, and what will happen if they don’t? How much of a “blessing” is it, really?

This week, we take a look at the concepts of blessing. We will examine what the word means, and if it is something that is given or something that can be taken. We will ponder the distinction between the love of Adonai and the favor of Adonai, and consider what conditions (if any) are placed on either. We will explore the “prosperity gospel”, pagan worship, and other forms of “magic” to discover how they differ from what we find in the Bible. In the end, we will challenge ourselves to let go of a performance mindset: to be grateful for the gifts we do receive, and to actually receive them as gifts – not about what we deserve or what we have earned, but out of unconditional love from our Father.
